Information Technologies in the healthcare field

(In collaboration with the Information and Communication Technologies area).

The nature of this work line is decidedly practical and seeks to fulfill two objectives:

  • To act as support and essential element of the R&D+i line, making easier the integration of Healthcare Technologies based on the results obtained by the other lines of work, in the face of providing innovative and competitive solutions on the application areas toward which the activities of this division are directed.
  • To obtain results that can be directly applied within the healthcare environment and, being more specific, that are aimed at certain hospital services where the use of information and communication technologies implies a major improvement to the healthcare quality.

On this line, our activities are aimed at:

  • The development of computer applications and tools for the capture, storage, and processing of medical data.
  • The interconnection and integration of devices and sub-systems (medical equipment, CIS, HIS, etc.)
  • The use of knowledge extraction techniques working from high volumes of information (e.g., medical records or event records on ICU.)
  • Developments in the logistics and supply fields.
