Cartif is a horizontal centre which covers a wide range of scientific disciplines. This characteristic, which makes us stand out from other technology centres of a more vertical or specialised nature, enables us to provide companies with integral solutions.
As such, our mission over the next four years is to make our name an international hallmark in applied research, technological development and innovation in processes, products and systems characterised by offering multidisciplinary integral solutions and by the ability to anticipate the needs of society, the business world and universities.
Cartif maintains the same values and objectives with which it was incorporated in 1994 and priority is placed on contributing to the development of its social and economic environment through the use and encouragement of technological innovation via the development and diffusion of research.
Today, Cartif has a staff of 200 researchers, revenue exceeding €13 million and a client portfolio comprising 120 enterprises and institutions.
In October 2009, the Centre celebrated its 15th anniversary keeping intact its objectives and goals for the future, among which are the construction os a third building and the extension staff to 300 people.
In 2005 Cartif, then known as the Centre of Automation, Robotics and Information and Manufacturing Technologies, was established as the Cartif Foundation; from that point onward it has a board in charge of setting the centre's research lines to bring them closer to the needs of the market.
Our associated companies represent the more outstanding economic sectors from the Castilla y León Autonomous Community and Spain in general.
